The weather forecast was questionable
but the timing of the moisture worked out well for the September 28, 2019, Tecumseh Heritage Day,
which turned out to be a very enjoyable day for all. There was
plenty of free family fun including live music by Pastense Bluegrass
Band, Tallgrass Express, The Hootin' Annies, and The Sterling
Family. Also available were free horse-drawn wagon rides
through the streets of Tecumseh, bounce houses, a petting zoo, a
covered wagon display, frontier encampment, antique cars, Master
Gardeners, Sheriff and Fire Department vehicles, craft vendors,
pioneer dolls, whirly-gigs, pumpkin painting, duck pond, photo
booth, thaumatropes, fishing, a pie contest with $200 in cash prizes
and many other things to be enjoyed at no cost. Also, for a
small charge Troop 18 Boy Scouts served food and there was plenty of
pie and ice cream to enjoy.
